About the Artist

Primordial shapes that teeter between the representational and the abstract and painted in a palette of vibrant saturated colors and grays fill the canvases of Lebanon-based artist Charles Khoury. Khoury’s thickly outlined contour lines crowd his dynamic compositions, often named for the hues that dominate them. He was formally trained in lithography at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts, and has created paintings, sculptures, and lithographs. Khoury has exhibited extensively in Beirut as a member of the Sursock Museum’s Salon d’Automne, Lebanese Artists and Sculptors Association, and the International Association of Plastic Arts through UNESCO. Outside Lebanon, Khoury has shown at the Abu Dhabi Art Fair and Art 14 London.
